Internet Kids Games: How To Deal Go Fish
When playing Go Fish, the dealer will deal one card to each player in rotation, until the entire deck is dealt. While doing this, the dealer also creates an additional pile that is called the fish pile, placed face down in the center of the table. Any cards left from the deal go to the fish pile. The object of the game is to collect all four suits of every card denomination, called books. Before the play begins, each player removes from his hand all existing books, and puts them face down in front of him.
Internet Kids Games: How To Play Go Fish
The play of Go Fish begins with the first player asking any one opponent for a card he needs. If the first player is holding two fours, one six, one jack, one seven, and two eights, he might say to one opponent, “Do you have any sixes?” If that person has the card requested, he must give it to the player, and if he has more than one, he must hand over all of them.
The player continues in this way, by asking the same opponent, or any other opponent, for another card. This continues until a request made is denied. If the opponent does not have the card requested, he says “Go Fish,” and the player takes a card from the fish pile.
The next player then takes a turn, and each player tries to make books. Each time a book is made, the cards are withdrawn from the hand and placed with that player’s other books face down in front of them. The winner is the player with the most books.
